Homemade frozen peas

Clean green peas.
wash in running water.
Now take one big pan and boil enough water[ until bubbles come vigorously]
Add green peas , let it boil until peas come to top. then switch off the flame.
Immediately wash with cold water to stop cooking.
Now rinse with towel and store in airtight bag or Tupperware container.

Mango Pachadi

Ingredients:
Raw Mango - 1
Powdered Jaggery - 1/3 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Rice flour - 1 tbsp
Temper:
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Green chilli - 1, slit lengthwise
curry leaves - few
hing - pinch

Method:

  1. Peel the skin of mango and chop it fine.
  2. Add turmeric powder and little water. Pressure cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile add water to jaggery and make it to boil. Filter the impurities.
  4. Now boil mashed mango and filtered jaggery syrup in low flame.
  5. Mix rice flour in 3 tbsp of water and keep aside.
  6. When water is reduced in mango pulp, add rice flour.
  7. When it thickens, switch off.
  8. Do seasoning and add it to mango pachadi.
  9. Serve with curd rice or idli.

Drumstick Leaves Podi

Ingredients:
Murungai keerai[Drumstick leaves] - 2 cups
Thuvaram parupu[Toor Dal] - 1 cup
Kadala parupu[channa dal] - 1/2 cup
Pasi parupu[Moong dal] - 1/4 cup
Red Chillies - 6
Hing - 1 tsp
Rock salt - 1 tbsp

Method:
  1. Wash drumstick leaves in water and dry them in shade.If the leaves sticked on each other, try to separate them in between.
  2. Once dried, take all the ingredients except hing and dry roast them in low flame.
  3. At the end add hing and roast for a minute and switch off.
  4. Now cool down and grind it.

Homemade Muesli

Corn Flakes - 3 cups [I used kellogs]
Instant oats - 2 cups
Honey - 1/3 cup + 1/3 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Badam - 4 tbsp, finely sliced
Walnut - 3 tbsp, finely chopped
Dry fruits - 5 tbsp [I used dates, prunes and dry grapes]


  1. Dry roast corn flakes, oats, nuts and dry fruits together until nice aroma comes. Keep aside.
  2. Now in the same pan, add 1/3 cup homey and salt. Let it boil for few minutes until bubble comes.
  3. Now add roasted oats and  nuts mixture. Mix well until honey gets coated on all.
  4. Now boil remaining honey in a separate pan and pour it on top of cornfales mixture.
  5. Cool it and bake for 5 minutes.
  6. After baking, transfer immediately to a plate and make it to cool. Otherwise it will start sticking.
  7. Transfer to air tight container and serve with hot milk.
